  • Substance abuse, a condition in which a person continues to use a harmful substance even though it is causing problems in their life. Substances can include alcohol, drugs, and tobacco.

Mental health conditions can affect anyone, regardless of age, gender, race, or socioeconomic status. They can be caused by a combination of factors, including genetics, brain chemistry, life experiences, and stress.
